The Secta Corporate World Cup
London companies drawn as nations, one trophy. The 2026 edition went to Gardiner & Theobald, and the next one kicks off alongside the 2030 World Cup. Can’t wait four years? We run World Cup-format tournaments for companies all year round.

The short answer
What is a corporate world cup?
A football tournament where each company plays as a nation. Secta's Corporate World Cup draws London companies into groups, runs weekly refereed matches through a group stage and knockouts, and finishes with a final and one trophy. It runs alongside the real World Cup, so the next edition is in 2030.
- first edition, 16 teams in Shoreditch
- 2022
- the 2026 edition, draw to final
- 7 weeks
- every company drawn as a country
- Nations
- the next edition
- 2030
It started in 2022 with 16 teams at Shoreditch Powerleague, a tournament built to run alongside the real World Cup. It has since become the biggest thing Secta runs.
The draw is what makes it work. Being handed a country, not just a fixture list, gives people something to rally around from day one, and turns a football tournament into something the whole company follows, including the people who never lace up.
How it works
From the draw to the trophy
01
The draw
Every company is drawn as a nation. Kits, flags and group-stage permutations argued over in Slack start here.
02
The group stage
Weekly matches against the other nations in your group, refereed and filmed.
03
The knockouts
The best sides go through. From here every game is a final.
04
The final
One night under the lights, one trophy, and a winner the whole of London's corporate football scene hears about.
2026 champions
Gardiner & Theobald 5-3 VCCP
Seven weeks came down to one night under the lights at Aldgate. G&T led 2-0 and 3-1, VCCP came back to 3-3 with a last-minute penalty, and G&T scored twice in extra time to lift the trophy. They had already won the Property League that season.

Built to be followed
The whole office watches, not just the players
Every match week is filmed and cut, so results, highlights and the inevitable controversies land while the group stage is still live. Colleagues who are not playing still watch, still have opinions and still turn up to the knockouts.
Forty minutes a week to forget about work, and a reason to meet the people you would otherwise only see in a calendar invite.
