The short answer
What is the London Law League?
A new weekly football league for London law firms, run by Secta. Your firm plays a season of refereed fixtures against other companies in the industry, closing with a finals night, and every game is filmed for the whole firm to follow. The founding members agree the night, the venue and the format.

Every week your firm competes with the firm across the road: for the client, the deal, the best trainees. Now you can play them on the football pitch. The London Law League puts your partners, associates and trainees on the pitch against the firms you are up against every day, and gives the whole firm a reason to follow the table.
Secta already runs industry leagues for property and creative companies, and law firms play in them. This is the first one built only for the legal profession, and the firms that come in now are its founding members.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Who can enter the London Law League?
Teams from London law firms of any size, from international City firms to boutique and regional practices with a London office. In-house legal teams are welcome too.
When does the first season start?
It is not scheduled yet. Firms that register interest now become the founding teams and help us pick the night and the venue that suit everyone.
Do law firms already play with Secta?
Yes. Winckworth Sherwood and Devonshires play in the East London Property League, and Squire Patton Boggs played in the Secta Women's League. This is the first league built only for law firms.
Do we need experienced players?
No. These are mixed-ability leagues and most teams play for the social side as much as the football. Games are properly refereed so they stay competitive without getting silly.
Can we mix trainees, associates and partners in one team?
Yes, and most firms do. It is one of the few places where seniority does not decide who gets the ball.
Is it filmed?
Yes. Games are filmed with highlights and a Player of the Match, so the rest of the firm can follow along and the graduate recruitment team has something to post.
