The short answer

How does a corporate football tournament work?

There are two ways. Secta can run a bespoke tournament for your company: we design the format around your numbers, book a multi-pitch London venue and run the day, usually 3 to 4 hours for 4 to 20+ teams. Or your company can enter a team into one of our open tournaments for a single day. The next one is in December.

A company football tournament is the fastest way to get an entire business talking about something other than work. Instead of a season-long commitment, it's one afternoon, one venue, and a bracket that ends with a team lifting a trophy in front of everyone else. We've run these for single departments and for company-wide events with 200+ people across multiple London offices.

The format is entirely ours to manage: bracket design, pitch bookings, referees, kit, first aid, trophies, you don't touch a spreadsheet. Add our content team and the highlight reel lands in your inbox before the following Monday, ready for internal comms or your company's social channels.

How it works

From enquiry to kick-off

01

Tell us your headcount

From a single-office event to a company-wide tournament across several offices, we design a bracket format, straight knockout, groups, or a mix, that fits your numbers.

02

We book a multi-pitch venue

A London 3G venue with enough pitches to run the whole tournament on one site, so every team plays in the same place, at the same time.

03

Tournament day

Referees, kit bibs, an MC on the mic if you want one, and a running schedule that keeps the day moving, typically wrapped inside 3 to 4 hours.

04

Trophy and highlights

A trophy lift to close the day, and, if you've added content coverage, a highlight edit turned around fast enough to still be relevant on Monday.

Six winning teammates cheering outside a red-brick London office building, one holding a silver trophy and another a runners-up salver.

Format & what's included

Format

Knockout, group-stage, or a hybrid bracket, built around your team count. Six-a-side is standard; we can flex to eight-a-side for larger squads.

Scale

We've run tournaments from 4 teams up to 20+, and from single-department events to company-wide days spanning multiple London offices.

Duration

Most tournaments run in an afternoon (3 to 4 hours). Half-day and full-day formats are available if you want to add food, drinks or an awards ceremony.

Content add-on

Our most popular upgrade: a two-person content crew shooting match action and the trophy lift, edited into a highlight film within the week.

What teams say

Don't just take our word for it

“Every company in London should be involved with Secta leagues. The games are always well organised and they provide top quality facilities. Plus it's been a great way of getting people from across the business together.”

Steve Halliday
adam&eveDDB

“Having to organise events in a big agency is a nightmare. Secta removed these stresses and all we had to do was turn up. Couldn't recommend more.”

Jermain Bossman
M&C Saatchi

FAQ

Questions, answered

Can we enter just one team instead of running our own tournament?

Yes. Secta runs open tournaments where companies enter a single team and play other companies for one day. The next one is in December: register interest and we will send the date, venue and entry details as soon as they are confirmed.

How many people do we need for a company football tournament?

Tournaments typically work best from 4 teams (around 20 to 30 people) upwards, and we've run them for whole companies across multiple offices. Tell us your headcount and we'll design a bracket format, knockout, group stage, or a mix, that fits.

How long does a tournament day take?

Most company tournaments run in an afternoon, roughly 3 to 4 hours including a break and a trophy presentation. We can also build a half-day or full-day format if you want to combine it with food, drinks or an awards ceremony.

Do you handle everything on the day?

Yes. Venue booking, referees, bracket and scheduling, kit bibs, first aid, trophies and an MC on the mic if you want one, we run the whole event so your team can focus on playing and cheering rather than logistics.

Which venues do you use in London?

We work with multi-pitch 3G venues across London that can host a full tournament on one site, so every team plays in the same place at the same time, no travelling between games.

Can you film the tournament for our internal comms?

This is one of our most popular add-ons. Our content crew shoots match action, sideline moments and the trophy lift, then turns around a highlight edit fast, often within the same week, so you can share it while the tournament is still fresh in everyone's group chat.

How far in advance should we book?

For the best pick of London venues and dates, 6 to 8 weeks' notice is ideal, especially for larger tournaments. That said, get in touch even if your timeline is tighter, we'll always try to make something work.
