The short answer

How does a corporate charity football tournament work?

Teams pay to enter, and the money goes to the charity you choose. They can be your own departments, your clients and suppliers, or other companies you invite. Secta books the venue, referees and fixtures and runs the day, so your team can focus on filling the bracket and raising the money.

A charity football tournament gives a fundraising target something people actually want to turn up for. Entry fees, sponsorship and a few side bets on the final add up quickly, and the day itself does more for the people involved than another bake sale.

Secta has run tournaments for single departments and for company-wide days with hundreds of people across several offices. We bring the same setup to charity days: the venue, the pitches, qualified referees, the fixtures and the trophy, so your organisers can spend their time raising money rather than chasing pitch bookings.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Which charities can we raise money for?

Any registered charity you choose. Many companies use the tournament for their existing charity partner.

How much can a charity football tournament raise?

It depends on the number of teams and what you charge to enter. Entry fees plus team sponsorship usually make up most of the total.

Can we invite teams from other companies?

Yes, and it usually raises more. Clients, suppliers and neighbouring firms are the easiest teams to fill a bracket with.

Do the players need to be good?

No. Games are refereed and kept friendly, and teams of every level take part.
