East Property League, Matchweek 6: G&T 9-4 Greystar
Fireworks and full control
This one had edge from the start. Early saves from Ollie kept Greystar in it, but then Oran said why not, and opened the scoring from the halfway line. Audacious.
Tempers flared early, both sides questioning decisions, plenty to say to the referee.
Ollie Till edged G&T ahead at 2-1, and from there the link-up play started flowing. Joe White pulled the strings, setting up James for a tidy finish to make it 4-2.
The battle within the battle
Joe versus Funto. All game long. A proper clash, and a shout for duel of the season so far.
Fergus brought Greystar back into it at 4-3, but G&T kept their foot down. Luca made it 5-3, James turned provider and showman with a naughty nutmeg, then added two more for good measure. Three goal involvements and the filthiest skill of the night.
Tom got in on the act too, rounding the keeper like it was training ground stuff.
Funto was awarded a penalty and buried it with confidence. Greystar had another chance from the spot and missed. Momentum gone.
Season two champions
Meanwhile, Edward in goal for G&T was pulling off cracking saves all night. A brick wall performance.
Late on, G&T did what top teams do: keep the ball, kill the game, no drama. Final score, Gardiner & Theobald 9-4 Greystar.
Played 4. Won 4. G&T are your season two champions. Luca takes Player of the Match. Until next time, viva la Secta.
